What is Registration?

If you think you want to buy a business, the first step is your confidential registration with us as a buyer prospect – yes, you need to fill out a form! It’s online at our website under the “Buyer Registration” tab. There is no cost or obligation. You do not have to buy a business. The information you provide will be kept strictly confidential.
Once registered, you will be contacted by one of our brokers. If, when you register, you ask about a specific business, the listing broker of that business will most likely be the one who contacts you.
Confidentiality & Pre-Qualification
In order to give you information about the business opportunities we have available, we will need to have your agreement to confidentiality and a confidential financial disclosure that will help us pre-qualify you. That’s what the form is about. A resume for our file is helpful, but is not required. We like to get to know you.
A meeting in our office is best if you can come to Portland, Maine. We understand, however, that not ALL business buyer prospects from out-of-state will travel to Maine until they see something they like. So, we are prepared to assist you by long distance, at least at the beginning of the process.
Offering Summaries & Seller Meetings to Follow
If would like to know more about a business that we discuss with you, we can send a “Summary Sheet” about the business. If you like what you see, we’ll usually then send a complete “Offering Summary,” the informational package we prepare to give you more detailed information about the business. We can send this information as email attachments or as hardcopies.
Only after you talk with us, and read what we have prepared, will you be meeting with the seller of the business.
